classes and programs

Genius Education Academy is a private, independent elementary preparatory day school with a challenging academic program, complemented with creative arts and our unique Montessori tools.

  • Infant Toddler (10 spaces)

The infant toddler program we refer to as LIttle Learners helps set children up for the older classrooms. They focus on socialization and basic skills. Teaching them independance in feeding, dressing, toileting and general self help skills. Through fun activites such as circle time and hands on activities the students are introduced to basic knowledge such as numbers, colours, letters and shapes.

  • Montessori (16 spaces)

Montessori builds on the skills taught in Little Learners but one does not have to have been in the LIttle Learners program to apply. We use Montessori theory to expand their basic knowledge and grow their skills. We introduce the building blocks to math and reading, as well as perfecting pencil grip, scissor skills and much more.

  • Preschool (20 spaces)

Focus on academics, getting ready for kindergarden; phonics, literacy, numeracy, critical thinking and problem solving. Regular science and math activities following STEM lessons provide children engaging learning opportunities. The older children gain independance and learn to independantly work with their peers. Daily reading and writing practice as well as regular lessons provide a well rounded day.

Programs:

English

Children are encouraged to practice their English while at school. Preparing them for academic success when they graduate to the elementary system.

French

We offer instruction in both Canadian official languages. Learning a second or third language at a young age fosters appreciation for cultural and languistic appreciation.

Public Speech

Providing a forum for them to practice language skills and an empowers children to express opinons and inspire others.

Dance

Encourages gross motor strength and coordination but above is enjoyable and encourages playfulness and creativity.

Music

Music encourages children to practice linguistics through an alternate form and learning rythm and beat helps strengthen mathmatical skills in a fun, engaging manner.

Yoga

Preschool Classes Only

Enhances overall physical fitness, improves coordination and provides tools to reduce stress and anxiety.

Science

Using STEM methodology we provide exciting experiments that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving.

Cooking

Learning to cook, encourages children to learn basic scientific principles, which is an essential life skill, the children learn about measurement and it engages all the senses.

Daily Nature Exploration

Children have at least one hour of active outdoor time, sometimes on our engaging outdoor play space and other times on fun outings such Minoru Park or the local library. We also offer regular field trips.
